Wow, the weather is finally trying to break. The snow was beautiful when it came but I’m so over it now (haha). I’m hoping that the snow they’re calling for on Friday doesn’t happen (fingers crossed).
You have everything you need
Just when you think being you is not good enough, who do you think you’re insulting? Yes, yourself, but most importantly God. He handcrafted you in His image. And guess what? He has given you everything you need to go forth and bring about change in the world. Isn’t that good news?!?
Some of you may remember when I received the 2015 EPNET Legacy Trailblazer Award for my business from the Entrepreneurs and Professionals Network (EPNET). What an honor it was! It inspired me to share a little about how to blaze your own trail.

Create a lane
4. Don’t Quit
How can you blaze a trail if you stop? Keep. Moving. Forward. It will be even more challenging when you’re going down the road less traveled because you’re actually paving a trail. You’ll need courageous strength and to be crystal clear on your orders because you may not see the same results, at first, as everyone else around you. But I promise, if you keep at it and stick it out, it will all come together. You will begin to reap the rewards and see the vision He has placed inside of you take flight. With God working on the inside you, you can’t go wrong!!!
5. Get Over Yourself
It can be really easy to get a big head when you’re getting lots of attention and seeing momentum—we’ve all seen it. We’ve also seen it taken away in a blink of an eye as well. It’s so important to stay humble and know that it’s not you. I hate to break it to you, but you’re not all that. There is a greater force behind you. God is doing it all and we are the vessels. Let Him guide your every move and get all the glory.
1. Be You
As the picture quote says, everyone else is taken. You can have coaches, mentors and models but no one else is going to bring the impact and solutions that the world needs but you. That’s why it’s important to get guidance and have accountability. Someone who will hold you accountable and not let you sit on your gifts. It’s exhausting trying to be somebody that you’re not, so stop trying. Be who God has called you to be. He will use it, quirks and all.
2. Know Your Orders
When I accepted the Trailblazer Award, the song I chose to walk to was ‘Fix My Eyes,” by for King & Country. One of my favorite lines in the song is, “It takes a solider who knows his orders to walk the walk I’m supposed to walk…” Get in tune with Him and trust what He has put on the inside of you. Basically, stay in your own lane. It won’t feel right when you veer off. There’s a confidence and freedom that emerges when you know what you are put on this earth to do. So be bold and go there!
3. Solve a Problem
What bothers you? For me, it was seeing women chasing after men and negative stereotypes of single mothers. For that reason I help women get off the hamster wheel of life, eliminate the cycle of toxic relationships and self-inflicting drama keeping them from their God-given purpose. In short, eliminating distractions keeping women from their destiny. Was I the first to invent this? No. But don’t worry if you solve the same problems that others solve. It’s how you present it. God will give you that special sumthin’ sumthin’ to stand out. Remember, He gave me, “Single Mama with No Drama.” It’s straight to the point, makes people laugh and they won’t forget it. He can do the same for you too.
