Life is far from perfect, but it’s your perspective that determines the joy of the ride. Radical gratitude not only shifts your perspective, but it helps you be content even when everything isn’t going the way you would like.
I’d like to share these 5 points I put together just for you.
Be grateful for your possessions (no matter the condition)
That’s right—the beat-up car, the running toilet, and the computer that keeps crashing. Treat that lemon like it’s a limousine and that efficiency apartment like a mansion. Someone less fortunate is dreaming of somewhere to call home, where they can close the door to the world. More will come when you’re able to take care of what you have and be grateful for it too.
Be grateful for your haters
If you don’t have them yet, keep on living. Whether they’re on social media or at the cubicle across from you, the thing you must remember is you develop haters when you’re going somewhere or when you’ve reached a certain level of influence. Haters often mean you’re on the right track. Used properly, they can even elevate you.
Be grateful for your crazy family
Family isn’t perfect. And this Thanksgiving will be no different. Let’s love them even with their flaws. What funny stories would we tell or post if we didn’t have some family members who were a little off the chain? When we see what’s going on in the world, it causes us to appreciate family and squeeze them a little tighter. We’re coming together to pray more, give more, and be thankful for what we may have taken for granted.
Be grateful to see the sun
Someone didn’t today. Every new day is fresh and one that we’ve never seen before. It’s another day to make a lasting change in the world. Make the most of your life by sharing love; spreading joy and peace; and showing patience and kindness. Just like the sun, a smile and positive energy is always warm and inviting.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love,
Kenya
