Know Your worth.

Rubies, gems, diamonds and rare stones…yep, that’s you Darlin’, and don’t you ever forget it.

Know and keep your values.

Hold on to your non-negotiables, and don’t ever settle. Ever. You will cry, but the tears are nothing like when you’ve let go of your values and you (and your values) have been trampled over like a beautiful flower bed meeting the tires of a Ford F-150.

Better is coming.

Better mindsets, better days, better income, better relationships, and yes, a better man. Because if you’re in tune with the Holy Spirit, you’ll be in tune with what is from Him and what is not. (That’s worth the price of admission right there.)

These women knew better existed, and they took the leap! They took the leap to focus on them. Better wasn’t coming with them standing still. They had to put their faith into action. Faith not accompanied by action is dead (James 2:17). To see the sheer excitement on their faces as they charged toward the unknown was inspiring, exhilarating, and heart-pumping!

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. As for me, I’m off to a Single’s Love Ball tonight. It should be fun. Please know that you are loved by me and perfectly loved by Our Father.

A few days ago, I watched an early 2000’s rom-com. (Those and the 90’s ones are the best, aren’t they?!?) It was about two women who swapped houses for two weeks, trying to desperately escape their messy guy troubles. One had just broken up with her cheating boyfriend, and the other was heartbroken from a man she had been in love with for three years but didn’t love her back. He got engaged at the office party, and she didn’t see it coming. He even had the nerve to email her while she was on the plane (in mid-escape mode) when his message, “How can I get in touch with you?” came through. (He wasn’t finished using her.)

I wanted to jump through the TV. But honestly, I’ve been there—dumped, and the dog started sniffing back around, and (like a dummy) I let the dog back in. How I wish I could ferociously shake the old Kenya. Lol.

Fast forward, they both fall in love with men from opposite worlds. When they weren’t looking, “better” found them. While it was a Hollywood tale—and a darn good one, might I add—something stood out.

Sometimes, we need to do something different to get a desired outcome. I don’t know what you’ve been banging your head against for the last decade or few years, but if it ain’t work or things haven’t changed by now, chances are it won’t. Even if it’s been a month, alarm bells have been going off left and right, and you’re still there trying to force it to work when you know it’s something you should never have started or entered. Whether it’s a relationship, a job/career, a habit, or another life decision, change needs to happen. That change starts with you. The job will keep doing what it’s designed to do—make money. When you leave, someone will take your place. The company won’t go down in flames. When God says, “It’s time to go,” believe Him. That uncommitted guy will keep doing what he does best—get what he can and use you up until you say it’s enough. Then, he’ll move on to the next victim. When God says, “He is not for you” believe Him. And lastly, fear will repeatedly keep you paralyzed, impacting decision after decision if someone doesn’t disrupt your pattern. You can’t change the world, make a lasting impact, or see your dreams come true from your comfort zone. When God sends someone to interrupt your pattern, let them help. I challenge you: what will you do differently to get God’s best for you?
