Have you ever thought about an idea but never did it, procrastinated on it, or perhaps were in the middle of doing it and then saw someone else do it?!? You felt some kind of way didn’t you? Haha, I know I did. Last month, I was sitting on the couch when I got a text from a friend that WTAL (Women Thou Art Loosed), an empowerment conference given by Bishop T.D. Jakes was starting in 10 mins. Of course I logged on and watched. I had heard so much about this event over the years and Ifinally could attend because of the times we’re in.
The Bishop opened the night. The set was hot! And I waited with excitement as he read the scripture He was to preach from. Then, he said…[click play]
I just about fell off the couch!!! “Whaat?!?” I said loudly. My daughter asked what was wrong. I told her and took the clip back (since it was streaming live via YouTube). I can laugh at it now. But honestly, I didn’t know how to feel at the time. We had the same talk title—and it was unique too. You see, ten days prior, The Holy Spirit had given me the title, “Beauty and the Beast” for my event in my prayer time. I was stunned (to say the least).
My prayer notes
Although we had the same talk title, we covered different angles but still with the same goal—to minister to broken women. His sermon was phenomenal and the attendees from my event gave me awesome feedback and said it was just what they needed! I’m so happy I did it because for a minute there, I wasn’t sure. I thought that people were going to think that I copied the title from him, but no one ever said anything like that. Sometimes we build stuff up in our own heads when we need to just concentrate on what God has given us and execute.
We need to remember that we’re on the same team—Team ‘Winning Souls for Christ!’ I think it’s awesome what God did! He sent me (Bishop T.D. Jakes!) confirmation, built my confidence, and taught me not to care what people think, just to name a few 🙂 Who am I speaking to?
I want to encourage you to not sit on your gifts and move forward with all your might. When God gives you something, He trusts you with it. If it’s been a fight, you’re on the right path. This year has been especially hard in that department. Some of us have been just trying to survive. This Saturday, I’ll be speaking at an event called, “One Night with the King.” If you’ve been struggling mentally, physically, and emotionally and in need of a breakthrough, you’ll want to be there. The event is free and you can register here. Come spend this Saturday with The King by being present and listening as He speaks to you about direction and His vision for your life through this unique event from 7pm to 9pm EST.
It’s so needed right now.
